Week of November 14

We were very busy this week preparing for our Thanksgiving performance. We made our own costumes, placemats and headdresses. Our morning work was thanksgiving themed as well as our discussions about the upcoming holiday.  This year we are native Americans therefore we have been learning about the different tribes and how they differ from one another. We have increased our amount of sight words we know. Everyday at morning meeting we practice them. The children recite them, spell them and use them in a sentence.  They continue to amaze us everyday.
This week in Mandarin class we learned about family members and how to say "I love _____(a family member)" in Mandarin. To review the lesson, please click on the link below:

We reviewed the songs "Where Are My Hands" and "Where Is My Friend", and practiced saying "where"( zài   ) and "here" ( zàizhè ) as well.

For writing we learned how to write number 8 (八, pronounced as ).
