Week of January 30

Hello parents!

Happy first week of February! This week your children have been learning about groundhogs and groundhog day. We have begun working on our valentines and study of famous artists. Your children have learned about Georgia O'keeffe. They learned where she is from, how she became interested in painting, what types of things she likes to paint and of course some of her famous paintings. The children each created their own painting on canvas of ladder to the moon.

We spent some time working on our orange workbooks. The children are all in different places within the book some are beginning to write their combination of uppercase and lowercase letters in words. Others are writing sentences.
We spent some time decorating our classroom for our Super Bowl party. The children cut, painted and colored footballs and players. They practiced writing the words Super Bowl , football, 51, groundhog, sun, shadow, sleep, six, cloud and sun.

In music this week the children continued learning how to properly hold the violin. They also sang songs with Ms. Lisa about the violin and played the strings on it as well. The children really enjoy violin and practicing.

This week during Mandarin class we reviewed the colors of red and blue, and sang our Hello Song using red and blue hand bells. We also revisited the greetings "How are you?" and "How are you today?" and learned how to respond to those questions. Then, using Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, we reviewed our facial features.

Have a great weekend!

Yuting  Next week we will travel to Poland.  Have a great weekend! Go pats!🏈
